Autoimmune Hypothyroid vitamin not improving

Hello again

I'm posting on behalf of my 67 yr old mom.

Autoimmune diagngosed 2008 after many years untreated properly. Epileptic 25 yrs plus. Oesteoarthritis. Fibromyalgia.

Had allergic reactions to levo tablet form told to take with loratadine. Eventually i got QE hos to change to liquid but it's been very slow increase process. Was on 100mcg increased to 125mcg 24 july.

Takes sodium valproate 200 mg, pizotifen, fultium 800mg, calcichew d3.

Results 24 July

TSH 7.14MU/L (3.5MU/L ON REPEAT)

CORTISOL 313NMO/L

KIDNEY, LIVER FUNCTION NORMAL

B12, FOLATE, FERRATIN NORMAL NO EVIDENCE OF ANAEMIA OR COELIAC DISEASE CK NORMAL.

Remains vit D deficient level 25 nmol/l

I want to phone QE hos to get these normal result figures.

Has many symptoms. Cold temp hair loss fatigue terrible immunity against colds flu. Weight problem. Eats healthy exercises a little daily. Rheumatoid pains. Nasty eye swollen puffed face last year. GP and QE wasn't concerned even though she looked like a hypo coma photo I've seen online. Bruises on body. Numb upper lip. Going to ask dentist advise tomo.

My query is why the TSH still high?

TSH 6.1 free T4 15 11/01/17

TSH 6.34 free T4 16.7 01/08/16

TSH 7.320 free T4 17.3 14/12/15

Have results going back to 2012 TSH was 12.28 so it's slowly come down.

Should she be on higher levothyroxine? Will it help the symptoms and weight loss?

Should i get all results from hospital ?

I am concerned as her health problems are due to unstable thyroid and the epilespy tabs caused the oesteo 18 yr later to find out and get vit d calcium on script. Also dangerous to liver and kidneys.

Anyone here got any ideas how to proceed forward with QE hos endocrinologist as they seem to fob off the symptoms. Had to insist on all the above blood tests.

Please somebody help

Lisa

When posting always provide the ranges as ranges differ with labs.

Never accept "normal" ,get the results .e.g. a B12 range may be 200-900 and 220 is normal but most posts on the issue reckon you need over 500.

Ensure another blood test about 8 weeks after the the recent increase.
