Still Lightheaded with optimal NDT dosage

Hello,

I have been on Synthroid for 15 years, 88 mcg until i was diagnosed with Hashi's a year ago. Then i was switched to Nature-throid. Here were my latest labs on 1.5 grains:

free t3: 3.6 (2 - 4.4)

free t4: .86 (.93 - 1.7)

t3 : 134 (80-200)

t4: 5 (4.7 - 11.3)

Peroxidase antibodies (down to 15.3 from 65) (range is 0 -4)

thyroglobulin antibodies: 7 (0-9)

Based on these results my dr. upped me to 1.75 grains.

I have low blood pressure all of the time. (top number at or below 90..), and when I stand up quickly, i get light-headed or after i lift weights.

electrolytes are all optimal

ferritin is 57 (10 - 232)

b12 is 698 (200 - 1100)

D was 27 in March - should be much higher now, but haven't been tested lately.

I am sleeping better, and my heart is rarely palpitating. PMS is better.

BUT, i cannot shake the lightheadedness. And i am suddenly losing a TON of hair.

I feel like it is a blood pressure thing now? could that be it? My dr's really don't totally understand hashi's, but are willing to work with me.

When i was titrating up on Naturethroid, and was on only .5 grains of naturethroid, my Free t4 was identical to what it is now, but my free t3 was only 2.7. I swear i feel worse now than i did back then. Can anyone shed some light on why i still have these symptoms?

Thank you so much!

Tina

You've got room for quite a bit of increase in your dose. My experience has been that I got loads of increases between the middle and the top of the range of my freeT3.

I also have very low blood pressure and always have, but just in the past few days it's started getting closer to the normal (I'm still increasing my dose every 6 weeks).

Thank you both so much for your replies. It gives me some hope! Hopefully i don't lose all of my hair before I get this all sorted out?!! :( I will start on more D, Iron, salt and water in the AM, along with dosing up another 1/4 grain. Curious, stickybloodmentor, are you using sea salt or table salt?

Ferritin too low. You need a minimum 70 for conversion - I would aim for min 100 as stated above tho. This may account for lightheadedness perhaps? If it continues consider switching NDT brands as sticky did also. Do consider adding selenium to you permanent arsenal of supplements tho:

I forgot to mention that I do eat 3 - 4 brazil nuts/day. I will definitely keep eating them as well as work on getting my ferritin levels up. thank you!
