Take a look at SeasideSusies posts about vitamin levels and you'll see where your vitamin levels should be and what you can do about them. If you're in the UK, the NHS might only provide supplements if you are below range. The vitamin D result looks strange because you are so low in range but there is no advice given to indicate that it is low so its a bit puzzling. Usually anything below about 50 is noted as deficient. Were these NHS results?

Hi many thanks for your reply, yes I am in the uk and they were NHS results 34 nmol/L. I was advised on my previous post regarding my Vit D that the dosage I was on was too low. However my GP has said it is all ok and not to increase the dosage. He is now testing my hormones for my symptoms.

He doesn't know what he is talking about - the NHS guidelines for a severe deficiency suggest a huge loading dose, which you didn't get. Ignore him and increase D3. GPs do about one afternoon on nutrition in their entire course.

Hey my vit D was 20 and i was told ‘crisis deficient ‘ . i had low calcium and severe hip pain that disappeared after a few weeks of vit d supplements starting. your not far off 20 so if i was you id show another gp your results because i’m not sure if the basic dose will be enough to increase yours quickly enough . i was put on 40000 ( i think) once a week for 7 weeks and now on 800 a day . i haven’t had it tested again yet .

You ferritin is on the low side and should be min 70 - refer to SeasideSusie for info regarding supplements. But iron needs to be taken w/Vit c and on an empty stomach in order to absorb properly:

If you feel bad, it is probably because of these results (which are all too low), not your thyroid which looks good.

Serum B12. 184. (130-800) - needs to be over 500

Folate. 8.4. (4-20) - needs to be at least 12

Ferratin 42. (12-250) - needs to be over 70

Vit D. 34 (30-300) - needs ot be atleat in the high 90s

800iu vit D won't do anything to raise levels - increase to 2000iu a day
