I have been Hypothyroid for 22 yrs, always treated with Synthroid .175 mg, seen Endo @ 10 yrs ago , dignosed with hashimoto's, currently my antibodies count is at a 1000, two weeks ago switched to Armour Thyroid 65 mg 2 X day;

Last week i developed sever pain on the left side of my chest, painful breathing, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing and tender to touch from the mid of underarm around the chest towards the middle. Seen my doctor 3 days ago, dignossed with Pericarditis and Pleurisy, EKG did not show heart attack, put on 20mg of prednisone , anti inflammatory and Tylenon Codein, no relieve, referred to Cardiologist, he suspects Pleurisy and possible pneumonia, tripled Prednisone, 60 mg now. Going for Xrays today, echocardiogram tomorrow, hoping to find out what is really going on.

Has anyone one similar experience? Please share i would really love to hear from others.

I had pleurisy and pneumonia at the same time about 18 months ago. I had severe pain, left side of chest, every time I tried to turn in bed it was sheer agony. I was very breathless, could barely talk because of it - two words then gasp for breath, two more words then gasp for breath, generally very weak and felt so unwell. Doctor listened to chest and lungs but it was made a bit more difficult because I have a lung disease anyway so was given amoxicillin immediately 'in case of infection'. Sent for x-ray which confirmed pneumonia. Told to take paracetamol for the pain. GP confirmed the pain was caused by the pleurisy. Pleurisy eased after about 7-10 days, it took a lot longer to feel better from the pneumonia but at least it didn't put me in hospital.

I haven't had pericarditis but my late husband did. He was told you only get it once then never again, well he had it three times. Originally blue lighted to hospital with suspected heart attack, diagnosed pericarditis. I can't remember what treatment he had though, it was a very long time ago.

Did you ever investigate with your doctor your T3 conversion?

Lack of T3 can have impacts on your heart.

Also, If you haven't already done so, could I ask you to read and sign this petition to help stop the withdrawal of T3 from the NHS? If be super grateful.
