So you are taking no Levo? Or anything? If you have thyroid disease it's for life. We don't cant just stop dosing without suffering severe side effects or worse. You TSH is now elevated at 7.53 - you should be at 1 or less. Without more info or some background here I can't comment further.
Yes...dx'd with Hashi x 10 years ago. I know that it is for life. Symptom free until the last year. I was taking Levo. I stopped taking 2 mos ago because it was making me feel worse than I was already feeling. I go to a new endo and functional med doc both this week. Levo is not for everyone esp if T4 is not converting or if it makes you feel like death. My GP just looks at TSH. I am hoping that appts with new docs will get me on the right track. T3 / T4 combo, etc.
There is a reason the Levo stopped working. Probably low stomach acid is keeping you from absorbing nutrients from the foods you eat or supplements you take. The function doctor will be best as they are aware of the vital need for certain nutrients to facilitate T4 to T3 conversion.
In the meantime, a Natural Desiccated Thyroid (NDT) product) or straight T3 added to your Levo dose (temporarily adjusted to take into account the loss of T3 from your cells during the past two months) will be very helpful to you.
In the future, never stop taking thyroid hormone as you are dependent on it. Call your functional doctor right away if you have any problems with your medication. It will take a bit of time to get back to where you were, but you'll get there.
Be sure to stay on track with any nutritional supplements you are given or informed to get. Ask the functional doctor what is the reason for your loss of nutrients? It is most likely due to a lack of stomach acid: HCL with Pepsin will take care of that for you. Ask your doctor about its use.
Looking forward to hearing what the doctors had to say.
