When your blood tests showed good levels how long did it take for you to feel well after that?

My latest results show

Tsh 0.05(0.35-5.5)

Ft4 19.5(10-19.8)

All vitamins good according to advice from here.

You really need to know FT3 and the various vitamin levels which lack of can reduce absorption. I was nearly a year before most symptoms went and some have returned so trialling a dose increase. No quick fix.

Thanks, did it take av year from your final dose? Or a year after starting Levo?

After starting, you need it for life so no final dose ...yet!

I meant your final amount of levo not a final dose, sorry. How long did it take for you to find the right amount of levo?

My TSH went from102 to under 1 in 3 months but 18 Months on has risen to 3.4 hence the trial increase.

The official stance is that you stabilise 6-8weeks after a dose change and post tt I was told it might take up to 18 months to find right dose. However my tt was dec 14 and am still not right despite bloods. Am on 150 levo T4 just over range t3 good and tsh supressed. However i only feel ok when do nothing, dont work, still not able to exercise, do housework etc even socialising has to be really spaced out. Still constipated, basal temp 36.2 resting pulse 73. There has bn improvement though as when on lower doses of levo felt awful all time and temp went as low as 34.7 . Currently trying to get a t3 trial but its a tough long winded path.

It took a year and two increases from 25mcg to 75mcg before I started to feel markedly better. You will get there!

I guess within a month to 6 weeks, it's true when you hear you have to be patient, I never thought I would feel well again but gradually did and even lost over a stone in weight since March. In a much better place than this time last year :-)

I had severe non-thyroidal illness when I first started treating my thyroid in 2013. I also discovered after a few months that my saliva cortisol was high and it took a long time to get to grips with what I could do to reduce it, and even when I treat it it tends to revert to being high very rapidly. And my gut was in bad shape. It took me nearly two years to get my iron levels to optimal. I ended up going gluten-free in 2015.

I'm starting to have the occasional good days now, but my chronic sleeping problems are still a huge, huge issue for me. I still have lots of days where I am in lots of pain and suffering from exhaustion/fatigue.

Basically, what I'm trying to get across is that the speed at which we get better depends on lots of variables and so nobody can make any promises. If someone was otherwise well, had no major problems other than a dodgy thyroid, was diagnosed quickly, converted T4 to T3 well, and wasn't left treading water on too low a dose of thyroid meds for ages, then they might feel better in 6 - 12 months.
