Has anyone noticed a change in symptoms with new formula Levothyroxine UK?

I have noticed the last month or so that I am sleeping more and still want more sleep after work, lunch time etc. I know this is a sign my meds are not working properly. This new formula is made in the UK by TEVA UK.. Now I’m all for new Parma and more affordable options for our NHS but not if it’s not the same quality cutting costs. Anyway I wanted to see if anyone else had noticed the difference in this product on peoples symptoms ?

Yeah I noticed that and it's too early for me know the side effects of the new meds ..

Compared with the other brand I had .. I was wondering the same thing

I had it a few months ago, ended up bed bound I was so ill. Its awful stuff. Some people ok, but most became quite ill. Search previous posts re teva levo. And report it via the Yellow Card system. Easy to find on google

On Actavis now.

Yes I've used it and not liked it. The last time I used a full pack, I got impetigo all over my face. Not sure whether it was related or just a coincidence.... In short I don't like it...

There have been reports stateside that Teva is causing problems for some in the U.K. who have been switched in some US thyroid FB sites.

Yes,dropping off late afternoon and harder to wake up properly especially since trial increase from 125 to 150 mcg

Hi I also had problems with the new teva it gave me palpations so switched to actavis

So glad it's not just me, I have found that it's upset my stomach since taking the new formula and I have felt more groggy throughout the day!

Lots have had trouble with Teva

You can return it and put in medical yellow card too

Hi my meds were switched to this brand. For me it created hairs on my chin ! yuk ! I complained at the chemist and asked to be switched back to Actavis Levothyroxine. Have not had them anymore. Yesterday, they made the same mistake again, before driving off I took them back and switched them to Actavis. When I mentioned the side effects to the assistant, she confessed to taking that same brand and also had whiskers which she had to pluck out. She said she was now thinking of changing to Actavis.

Yep I also had problems with Teva when switched to it recently Made me itch all over like mad and came out in hives Teva does seem to be causing problems, so you not alone

I think that there are two effects going on here: 1) You can change to a brand that does not suit you but, 2) I think just the "changing brands" also can be deleterious. I am a great NDT proponent but for my first eight (or odd) years I did just great on Levo (by Forest Pharma). Then Forest folded and I had to switch brands of Levo, I never found ONE which I could take that made me feel well. I got to the point where I felt I would die soon. The new brands couldn't all have "bad" ingredients in them to which I was reacting (or, I suppose they could have all lacked the "good" stuff that Forest put in their pills). So that is why I gave up on Levo and switched to NDT. I do live in terror though in case they ever play games with NDT here in the US because there is nowhere else for me to go (pill-wise). In view of the fact that 30 million people may be thrown off health insurance if this Bozo president gets his way, it tells me that the NDT vs Levo controversy is not a very high priority when it comes to saving lives.

Hi I was on mercury Pharma recently and asked to go back to TEVA as felt mercury Pharma made me feel dizzy and ill. Recently had a virus where I have been sleeping 12-14 hours a day and still seem to need 10 hours - hadn't associated this with TEVA but maybe I should?

I have not noticed any change with the new formula, I didn't know there was a new one... My doses are very high (200m a day) and my last recent blood test is great. The only thing is my stomach, it is messy and crampy... I don't know if it is related.

My stomach is the same since Changing over to Teva and also stomach pain muscle weakness too it’s really messed me up.

Hi, I have Levothyroxine100mg new formulation and after a few days started to feel really tired when i’d Normally be awake by 7am I wake between 9/10am also my hair has dried right up and gone really thin i also feel as if i’m Putting on weight also IBS symptoms is anyone else suffering with this new formulation.

There are many, many posts here regarding Teva's levothyroxine. Many find it intolerable but there are some who find it the best of the products available in the UK.
