Feeling hot with movement and no movement also during day

Wake up startled and wet many times during night

I was diagnosed with hashimotos 10 years ago with no medication as levels are still within normal

I have blood tests 2 a year for my thyroid still ok

Thyroid antibodies have always been >1300 plus sometimes

I'm 48 years of age have not had regular periods since last year

Had a check up with gynaecologist

She said it's perimenapause

I feel worse than ever

Please suggest what should I do

Thank you

Kotenok69,

Can you take HRT for perimenopause?

What were your last thyroid results and ranges?

Ask your GP to check B12 and folate because low B12 can also cause night sweats and folic acid may help menopausal hot flushes.

Kotenok69,

TSH >2.0 indicates thyroid is beginning to fail but I can't tell whether FT4 is within range as you haven't included ranges. NHS won't usually diagnose hypothyroidism until TSH is over range or FT4 is below range.

Thyroid peroxidase antibodies are positive for autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's). There is no cure for Hashimoto's which causes 90% of hypothyroidism. Levothyroxine treatment is for the low thyroid levels it causes. Many people have found that 100% gluten-free diet is helpful in reducing Hashi flares, symptoms and eventually antibodies.

VitD 73 is fine assuming you are getting some sun on your face and arms each week. You will need to supplement during Oct-Apr to maintain levels.

Hashimoto's often causes low vitamins. Get vitamin D, folate, B12 and ferritin checked. Make a new post on here when you get the results including ranges

Meanwhile you may find changing to a gluten free diet helps reduce symptoms

Read & learn as much as possible about Hashimoto's- The Thyroid Pharmacist website , her video series the Thyroid Secret on you tube

Amy Myers, Chris Kresser, plus many more - just Google Hashimoto's

Sounds menopausal to me. Ask for the blood tests to confirm. HRT works wonders :-)

Best of luck!
