I am a 62 year old woman diagnosed about 3-4 years ago. I increaed my Levo from 25 to 37.5 per day from 1st to 2nd test. I am about to increase Levo to 50 to see if TSH drops and T4/T3 increase, GP happy for me to try and to drop down if doesn't agree with me. NHS test in 3 months, but it will only be TSH. Should I be concerned about any of the results. I asked GP yesterday about B12, I told him my cousin who has PA alerted me to it being a bit low, he said it is fine. I am now not so sure after reading the article in the daily mail yesterday

dailymail.co.uk/health/arti...

Having looked on PA site I have some of the symptoms but then they could also be Hypo too. Clumsiness, Tinnitus, Burning shins, Sleep disturbance.

Wilsospw,

TSH 2.92 indicates you are undermedicated but increasing dose to 50mcg will raise FT4 and FT3 and reduce TSH. The goal of Levothyroxine is to restore the patient to euthyroid status. For most patients that will be when TSH is 0.4 - 1.0 with FT4 in the upper range. FT4 needs to be in the upper range in order that sufficient T3 is converted. Read Treatment Options in thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/about_... Email louise.roberts@thyroiduk.org if you would like a copy of the Pulse article to show your GP.

Thyroid peroxidase and thyroglobulin antibodies are positive for autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's). There is no cure for Hashimoto's which causes 90% of hypothyroidism. Levothyroxine treatment is for the low thyroid levels it causes. Many people have found that 100% gluten-free diet is helpful in reducing Hashi flares, symptoms and eventually antibodies.

VitD 80 is in the replete range 75 -200. No need to supplement now but you will need to supplement Oct - Apr when ultraviolet light is low.

B12 392 is unlikely to be deficient but if you are experiencing symptoms in b12deficiency.info/signs-an... go to healthunlocked.com/pasoc for advice.

Folate is good.
