Adrenal Test result help please

Morning, I have had a cortisol test done by BH and copied the results below. The doc says they are ok, (4pm bit low but ok). I just wanted your opinions if you think I would benefit from supplementing and with what? (Have Hashi, overactive currently on levo 100 ) I know the adrenals play a big part in our thyroid health so I would be grateful for any advice if it's needed. Thank you.

DollyDuck,

I'm sorry you've had no replies. Feel free to repost your results and questions.

Hi Dolly, I have commented on your reverse T3 topic. Your cortisol is too low so your adrenals are struggling to deliver but by the end of the day you have a higher result. This may be the reason your T4 turns into reverse T3.

holtorfmed.com/treating-thy...

" By providing the body with some or all of the T3 that it needs, the thyroid will produce less T4. With less T4 to convert to RT3, the patient’s system can slowly regain proper thyroid hormone balance. Conversely, continuing to give T4 preparations or refusing to treat RT3 issues means the patient will become increasingly hypothyroid."

Heloise. Thank you. This makes sense. I think my next step is reduce T4 to 75, carry on with the small amount of T3, and try and take some adrenavive II. Does that sound like a good plan? I am trying the 100 and T3 at mo, but my brain fog is worse, my ears and jaw ache. I am keep trying hoping it will get better as time goes on. I think I am feeding the problem like you explained above. Thank you for taking the time to reply it is really appreciated.

Probably the most important thing is to improve the adrenal function. This is such a complicated condition because your thyroid is in every cell of the body and the adrenals sort of control the energy. Another aspect is that nutrients are not getting through so it's important to improve digestion because that may be where it all began. So many people take antacids of some type whereas most need more acid. You can supplement the nutrients but the stomach still needs to work.

You should follow some of the experts online like Izabella Wentz who has been through it all or watch John Bergman's videos but Eric Berg is good about treatments. The idea is that there is much more to this condition than taking a pill. I wish there were actual doctors available to help us but unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the case.

Thank you again, you are so knowledgeable. I will look into my adrenals, and follow up your advice above. I think I am just scared of getting worse, and not being able to function. However, I need to improve and knowledge is the way to do it. No there isn't much help out there, but thank goodness for people like you, who take the time to help. Bless you. x

Well, you have work ahead and have to be aware of what you are putting in your body and even on it. So many products out there that may not be healthy for us.

This man is wonderful in knowing how the whole body works and especially the hormones and nervous system.

I have just watched this, what an insight. I am going to watch this again, as it was a lot to take in. So my adrenals need help, and that's what I am going to do. I need to find out more about the iodine though, I tried a thyroid support supplement containing it once, and was sick and bad within 20 minutes, this was before I knew of the link between iodine and hashi). I was recommended to take Chlorella Spirulina instead, but haven't incase it makes me ill, or my antibodies go mad! I am not very brave. Thank you again, fascinating watch.

It's good to know our bodies, Dolly, and now you probably know more than your doctors. I don't think the spirulina will cause any bad effect.

Dr. Bergman has so many wonderful videos, you know your brain is very involved in this because your nervous system starts in the brain and he has a talk on that.

I see you had your test done by Blue Horizon. Do you need to do all of them yourself? Have you had antibody testing?

Thanks Heloise. I have been on levo for 7 years, and had seen little improvement until I found this site. My GP was content that my readings were within limits. However I found out from my first blood test that she done that I did have the antibodies. I decided to do the BH test to see if I was positive for both antibodies, and RT3. My TG antibodies were +4000 a year ago, and TP +153 & high Rt3, free T3 4.65. My GP told me the antibodies were not specific to my thyroid & not to worry! So I began supplementing, gluten free. Fortunately last year my NHS test showed my TSH was above so she agreed to an increase. I am on 100 levo now, (was on 50) a year ago. I take info from this site with me and I do believe she is now listening. Being on the 100 over the last 7/8 months, has helped but my anxiety has been bad, brain fog etc, which I think is due to the fact I can't convert. Thank god for the BH tests! so that's where I'm at now, and thanks to all you lovely thyroid angels I am finding my way. So my next step is that I need to help my adrenals now. Reading up on it most people seem to drop the levo slightly and add the adrenavive? Does that sound right to you?

Sorry forgot to mention (brain fog) I have been taking the t3 for the last couple of weeks that's helped. I am now going dairy and soya free to get them antibodies lower. That's how all this started as keeping my TSH suppressed meant they shot down to 2000 on my last test.

It's a good thing you went gluten free with those antibodies. But you have to attack this as an autoimmune condition and fix the gut. We are usually malnourished because our digestion is no longer efficient. Try to eat as clean as possible and use digestive enzymes in case your gall bladder and pancreas are not working well.

Your adrenal glands need lots of magnesium and vitamin C. There is so much trial and error so probiotics, prebiotics and other supplements make it difficult to advise. Selenium is important so think it's worth either eating organic Brazil Nuts or supplementing. Is it possible to get a little T3 which may help get rid of some reverse? I think it's better to get both if you are taking T4.

This is another man who points out the problems in a very quick manner. I'll try to post the ones on antibodies.

Thanks so much for those videos. I have learnt so much from you. I am already taking selenium, and vitamin c , plus iron, calcium, magnesium, zinc, all the b's too, plus msm and L-glutamine. These have all helped in reducing those antibodies. My ATP on my last test was almost within range 36 (-34), however my TPA had increased to 2360 from (1999 last test), and the RT3 shot up from 28 to 40. So it was all going well test wise, but I was not feeling good, on 100 levo. My brain is scrambled, ears muffled, and so anxious about the most stupid things. So adding the T3 has helped, but I am still getting a bit panicky in the mornings. I will also try the adrenavive. Along with trying to heal my gut. Trouble is when your anxious, you don't think straight anyway & I have become an impatient patient, wanting quick results! Which I understand now is not going to happen, it is all trial and error, and based on how you are feeling. I think I have lost a bit of courage along the way, to try new things, because I have hit so many brick walls and felt low for so long. However, I am so much better than I was a year ago, and taking baby steps forward instead of running is the way to go. I Thanks again for all your help you are an absolute star.

I know it's hard and I'm always incensed when doctors will not learn more themselves. The information is out there but it's time consuming and can be expensive to keep trying the different recommendations but don't give up.

I've learned a lot from the wonderful naturopaths who really go beyond ordinary conventional medicine. I posted some summaries from Izabella Wentz's Summit which was wonderful and covered so many symptoms. If you want to read them you can go to my profile and read them. They are not too long and really opened my eyes.

Keep posting Dolly, If we don't help each other, who will?
