Advice re blood results

Hi I have had a blood test this week which shows TSH at 0.24 ( below range) but they have stated Normal no further action.

My T3 is 5.7Pmol and T4 11.6Pmol.

However I have multi nodules on my thyroid of which one is the size of a golf ball.

Any suggestions where I go with this as clearly them testing the blood did not know the latter and will multi nodules affect the blood results and function of the thyroid.

I have been feeling rubbish for years and feel like I am treading through treacle even after a good nights sleep.

I have fibromyalgia and have just started taking vit B12 which seems to be waking me up though early days on that yet.

Feel like I am going round in circles.

Thanks

Roll178,

Do you have the lab ref ranges for FT4 and FT3 (the figures in brackets after results)? TSH below range isn't a problem and TSH high or low of itself doesn't make you feel anything. I can't tell whether FT4 is high or low without the lab ref range but FT3 5.7 is usually good.

Have thyroid peroxidase antibodies been tested?

Have you had an ultrasound scan to check the condition of the thyroid and measure the thyroid nodule and have you had a fine needle aspiration biopsy of the nodule?

Multi nodule goitres don't usually affect thyroid levels or cause symptoms other than tenderness or fullness in the neck and throat.

Some people find B vitamins keep them awake when they take them late in the day. Try taking yours with breakfast.

Hi

With ref to the nodule that is fine and didn't require a Fine needle ( confirmed in 2 x ultrasounds). The last one was a year ago. I was supposed to have it removed but the timing wasn't great so I have never had it done.

The results after the are

T3 range 4.1 - 7.9

T4 range 11 - 23.

I do take the B12 at breakfast and at lunchtime. It doesn't make me feel that much awake I still feel like I am wading thru treacle because I am exhausted.

Thanks

Roll178,

If you were supposed to have the nodule surgically removed you should continue to have it monitored.

The post below has * subclinical hyperthyroidism but that is nonsense as TSH is not suppressed <0.1 and FT4 and FT3 are both within range, in fact, FT4 is very low in range.

Have you had ferritin, vitamin D, B12 and folate tested?

There hasn't been a peroxidase test that I can see.

There has been a Parathyroid test tho and that was normal 3.18 pmol ( 1.59 -6.9)

Hi

I had Vit D at the beginning of the year and that was ok. That had been recommend by my Rheumatology consultant.

I always find the problem is approaching the Dr's about these tests. Previously I've mentioned something and told I shouldn't rad up on things on the Intermet... Wouldn't mind but I hadn't !!!!
