I had an ultrasound about a month ago and it showed a mild goiter with nodules. The ENT said it was normal and I would have never known about the goiter had I not gone to pick up the report.
My primary said my T3 he ran in February was borderline high and he was going to run it again along with the other thyroid tests and antibody tests because he thinks I might have something like Hashimotos. I went into the office today with a resting heart rate of 150, chest aching, and feeling like someone had their hand around my throat.
He gave me a beta blocker and it has taken the edge off, but hasn't killed the pain or the hand around my throat sensation. It will be a couple of days until I know the results. I'm so uncomfortable and dying for some relief. If anyone has any recommendations on helping with the pain...

He probably thinks you are having a thyroid storm where too much hormone is being secreted and causing a hyper episode. He could have given you something to calm down your thyroid but I would not ever say that a goiter and nodules were normal. Try to stay away from any stimulants, caffeine, etc. Here is some information from Stop the Thyroid Madness.
