My TSH was always low, even on Levo but I understand it can be even lower on NDT. Is this right and why is this?
Thanks

Because NDT contains T3. This informs the Pituitary in the feedback loop that there is adequate thyroid hormone. This prevents the Pituitary Gland pumping out TSH - as there is no need to stimulate the thyroid .....
Everything about the thyroid in the above link 😊
always look at your free t3 free t4 on test especially on ndt
Thank you. I'm very lucky that, even while I was on Levo, the lab did my T3 as my TSH was always low, out side the acceptable range. I always managed to persuade my doc not to reduce my dose as I wasn't feeling so great! I've always asked for a print out of my blood results - whatever they are for, so have results going back over 5 years and can see a pattern of how, as my T4 went up my T3 went down. I even said to my doc 'do you think I have a conversion problem?' but he didn't answer, probably because they don't really know about that do they!!
