HI,I'm seeing my doctor tomorrow about my latest blood test.I'm on 100 Levothyroxine and have been since diagnosed 3 years ago. Should I get my dose increased?I feel ok but have a few things like dry skin weight gain,a few aches, sometimes tingling in forearms and hands, swollen feet and ankles etc.I'm 64 and can't decide what is age and what is Thyroid??

Regardless of age and I'm older than you but the aim is to get your levels for both FT4 and FT3 in the top of the range or even the top quarter and you are below that. (Think you have a typo in your FT4 range 25.0 not 250).
Tingling could well be low B12 so you need to get that tested and the other useful things for helping your thyroid are filtered, ferritin and Vit D so I would get all four tested and post your results. Like thyroid doctors think if you are in range you are fine but again it's where in the range that is important.
Sorry it was a typo. I'll ask the doctor if there are results for B12 etc. I mentioned them to the nurse when she did my blood test and she said my past results have been fine for B12. Thankfully she is very interested in thyroid and asked for the T3 check and some others, so I told her she should look at this sight. I have a very nice doctor so hopefully he'll be open to increasing my Levo. Thank you silverfox7
I'm new to the thyroid world. But I wonder, and perhaps since you said your doctor is human (so many of them are not), ask whether he advises two labs before changing meds? I don't know at all, just interested in what the general rule is regarding labs as they slate to medication changes. I know, regardless of age, T3 controls

I did read a while back but can't remember where but some dementia patients were tested and all had low T3 which I would suggest was really low as we know bottom of range gets a thumbs up. I post all my medication on MediGuard as I have drug allergies so useful to check on ehatcim given butvmybthyroid meds flagged up, maybe 60 or 65 to say see doctor as thyroid meds probably need reducing!!! What Hope have we?
