Latest endo visit... feeling a bit unsure what do you think

After the untimely death of dr skinner, I began seeing a different endocrinologist. I was recommended to them as one who believes in the use of T3 and NDT. I have felt a couple of times that I am not entirely convinced of the way they do things. Dr skinner would check pulse etc and this dr goes off blood tests. I'm on NDT and my latest bloods showed suppressed tsh of 0.04. She checked my T3 and T4 and which I think were 3.0 or 4.0 and 10.0 respectively (no ranges). I'm a bit worried because she's talking of reducing dose and has done so once (also, according to past ranges, those results would be about halfway). In fairness I said it was fine but was a bit panicked because I was late for my appointment but when I think about it my hair is really dry and I think it's slightly thinning, still get a bit sleepy but I had an operation 3 weeks ago so anaesthetic has messed me around a bit and to extent my fatigue is better because I now have b12 injections. Also my skin is really dry especially on my heels and my nails are ridged. One of the things that concerned me though is that the dr was talking about reducing my dose because my tsh was suppressed. When I went to my gp, she said she wasn't too worried about that because I'm on NDT... who is right?

My word you appear to have a GP that understands how to view bloods when taking NDT. How refreshing. But your instinct is correct and anyone trying to reduce your NDT dose using TSH needs to be avoided. Can you get the exact FT4 and FT3 numbers and ranges? From what you have said I would have thought that you would be raising your dose to get the FT3 to the upper levels if you are on UK ranges. Trust your instincts.

Yes, i was shocked too! i don't have the blood test results at the moment but I'm going to get them. I went to get them on the Saturday I was due to have my endo visit but they were closed (Google said they were open, I think I'm too IT dependent lol)

Tsh should be less than one to feel good and tsh should definitely be repressed on NDT.....what matters is free T4 and more importantly freeT3...I'm guessing they are low as the ranges I'm familiar are t3 (3.00-7.10) and t4 (10.40-24.50)...but don't quote me as different labs have different ranges!personally that's screaming you need more ..not less!

That sounds about right to me but I think T3 ranges were lower (but again, I'm not entirely sure). I will get the results printed
