Hi guys I'm a new participant of this site and would like some overall advice. I was diagnosed with an under active tyroid about twenty years ago after the birth of my first son. I have always been quite slim about 7 to 7 half stones . IM not really a big foodie so don't eat alot . After having my son I lost all the weight abd went down to about 8 stone but as the months passed the weight started to increase. I wasn't eating anymore and I was walking miles for exercise so was a bit shocked to find the weight going up. went to the doctors who diagnosed UT. since then I have been about 9 to 9 half stone but for the last two years it's on the increase and now I'm 12 stone and not happy at all. I'm also losing my hair and just don't know what to do. please help as it's depressing me .

Hi Hottea, could you post your thyroid blood results with the ranges (the numbers in brackets), plus any other tests you have had done. Have you got high antibodies? And what dose thyroid replacement are you on? Cutting out gluten and dairy can be very helpful, if you have not done that already.

If you have results for vitamin D, folate, B12 & ferritin plus thyroid antibodies too....post on here

If these have not been tested ask GP if they will do so
