I posted three weeks ago to say my FT3 had decreased even though I had not altered my thyroid meds.
I take 1.5 grains W.P. Thyroid, one grain am. and half grain early evening.
I had been feeling unwell with what felt like a virus and a member thought I may have had a hashi's attack as my TPA antibodies had risen even though they are still in range.
Diogenes replied if I had a non thyroid virus this could have caused my FT3 to drop.
I have just repeated the FT3 and it has come back at 4.4 range 3.1 - 6.8 so it has risen.
I took the test at exactly the same time and fasted as the previous test.
My previous results were,
Bloods taken 12 hours after last NDT dose and fasted.
TSH 1.06 range 0.27 - 4.20
Total T4 47.9 range 59.0 - 154.0
FT4 9.74 range 12.00 - 22.00
FT3 3.58 range 3.10 - 6.80 level was 5.2 range 3.8 - 6.0 in February, 17 hours after NDT,
TPO antibodies 95.77 range 0 - 115.00
TPA antibodies 32.02 range 0 - 34 this has risen from 27.5 in August 2015
So in three months FT3 has gone from 5.2 to 3.58 to 4.4.
So the question is because my FT3 has now increased does it show it was a virus which reduce it on my last test, because if it had in fact been an hashi's attack and destroyed part of my thyroid then the FT3 would not have risen and stayed low.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Who knows why your T3 level fell. Pain, depression, exercise, nutrient deficiencies, sex hormone levels, blah, blah, blah will all effect T3 levels as well as virus' and other health conditions.
A person with a healthy working thyroid gland will compensate and deal with too much or low little thyroid hormone but those of us with many other health issues and inflammation caused by Hashi may suffer excess or insufficient from time to time.
If you read the link below you will realise how immensely complicated conversion and thyroid hormone synthesis really is.
I medicate WPThyroid, same dose and similar timings to you and multi dosing is absolutely essential for me.
Thyroid antibodies do fluctuate and are often present in low numbers in healthy people with no thyroid issues. Yours are below range but could have been raised when you felt particularly unwell.
When my FT3 was 5.2 I tried to increase by quarter grain but got palpitations and raised B.P.
I thought I may try to increase again now FT3 is 4.4, but then again I am wondering if the FT3 will raise again on its own as it has gone up in three weeks.
I feel well on WPThyroid BUT only if I continue to look after my adrenals and optimise all nutrients.
As time goes on and I gain further & further well being, my body can accommodate more stresses and partying ! ! ... ;o)) ...
Long term undiagnosed thyroid issues can take years to sort .... first which med will actually be tolerated and then the recovery//recuperation of all the crap that years of low thyroid hormone has caused.
My biggest breakthrough with the addition T3 (or NDT) was clarity. To eliminate that soul destroying brain-fog was immense..
Palpitations and raised B.P could be a sign of over T3 medication or struggling adrenals. I wouldn't mess with doses needlessly. It is natural for the body's needs of T3 to vary (virus', temperature, exercise, stress , etc ,etc) and unfortunately we have to guess our dose (with the help of test results) and occasionally feel a little under par.
My obsession with testing has ceased as I get used to T3 (NDT) and how I feel and more importantly "expect" to feel. Unfortunately, we need to factor in any stresses whether physical, emotional, psychological, environmental or illness, as these will impact our ability to convert or use T3, but doesn't necessarily mean we need a dose increase as too much can have negative connotations also..
