Do these indicate autoimmune hyperthyroidism? I have hyperthyroid symptoms despite being under active.

TPO antibody 476 (<34)

TG antibody 238.5 (<115)

Thank you

They indicate Hashimoto's - which is underactive HYPO, but you get swings as levels change.

High TPO antibodies is always indicative of having Hashimoto's. High TG can be due to a number of different causes, but if you have high TPO then high TG will most likely be due to Hashimoto's

Many of us with Hashimoto's find changing to a gluten free diet can reduce symptoms and may lower antibodies (don't expect your GP to know that Hashimoto's & gut & gluten are connected.)

Very common to have poor gut function or "leaky gut", leading to low nutrients. Ask GP to test vitamin D, folate , ferritin & B12. Always make sure to get copies of test results including ranges (figures in brackets). They are commonly low and need to be at top of range to help utilise your thyroid hormones

It indicates autoimmune hypothyroidism (called Hashimoto's), not hyper. However it's common for people with Hashimoto's to go through hyper swings. As the thyroid gland is attacked it dumps big amounts of T4 from time to time which can make people feel hyper. Usually this happens at the early stages while the thyroid still has a good amount of activity, but with each destructive swing the thyroid is able to produce less hormone and your symptoms will become more hypo.

They indicate Hashimotos - autoimmune thyroiditis (hypo)
