Stopped contraception/no periods

Hi all, I am completely new on here. I am currently on the standard 50mcg levothyroxine, having regular blood tests and started on this September last year. Over the last 2 years I have had 2 periods, that's it. I came off the contraceptive pill (progesterone only pill) May 2015.

Has anyone else experienced issues with very few or non-existent periods?

Welcome to the forum, Ceejay83.

Periods can stop when hypothyroidism is untreated but if you are optimally medicated on 50mcg they should have resumed unless you are menopausal.

If you post your recent thyroid results and ranges members will advise whether you are optimally medicated.

Your GP can do blood tests to see whether you are in menopause.

Have you mentioned this to your doctor, there are a number of things that can do this if you're not menopausal too. Need to find out why really and see what's going on

Yes, and I now have a 35 year old son, conceived while I was not having periods!!! Took me totally by surprise, I thought I had a tummy upset because I was sick so often, never guessed a baby was on the way, so take care unless you want a baby!
