Why are Drs not doing anything?

I still can't get my head around the fact that my antibodies are positive and high and that my TSH is at 4.01 and they won't treat me until it's at 5.5. It's madness!

As far as they are concerned they don,t understand ab,s and even less what to do about them, so they ignore them. I went gluten free to reduce mine and felt quite a lot better. docs think I am mad! You should be on Levo as it will help to keep ab,s from increasing. hopefully someone else can point you in direction of research that proves this.

I asked about being put on levo and all I got off him was.... your thyroid is still producing TSH so you won't benefit from it. I tried to argue the toss with him but got no joy

Just get all your ducks in a row first, that is optimal levels of vits etc. Then have a full thyroid panel blood test and post results on here for further advice.

According to your doctor, your thyroid is still producing TSH?

It will be the first thyroid in history to do so. TSH is produced by the pituitary!

Yeah, that's what he said. He said it wouldn't benefit me giving me levo because my thyroid was still producing TSH. He wasn't interested in anything I said about the symptoms I have or the high antibodies

I am not sure he understands anything about physiology. Where was he trained? TSH is thyroid stimulating hormone which would make it difficult to stimulate itself. Perhaps he doesn't know about the pituitary gland which does that job. Change your doctor to one with a brain! Get lucky!!

Get your vitamin D, ferritin & B12 tested. You say you already have low folate. These all need to be at good levels, not just with in range

Always get full results including ranges. Post on here with results

Improving vitamin levels and going gluten free could significantly reduce symptoms.

Personally, if I had known the significance of good vitamin levels and diet connection I would have given that a really good trial, rather than going on Levo.

Improving your gut function could lower antibodies & prevent progression.

Good probiotic, bone broth and fermented foods like kefir can help improve gut bacteria
