Just in case some members are not aware, The One Show will be airing a short piece on the T3 problem tonight on BBC1 unless a big news story breaks and it is dropped!

Thanks lynmynott can't wait. Hopefully after the amount of messages they have received today they will realise it is an issue that must be aired. If not tonight but soon.

There's quite a few of us that have been on the case with emailing various authorities ect today.

This Morning and Loose Women have been contacted by a number of people. And we came up with an idea. Rod Stewart has had thyroid cancer and since his operation has made a good recovery. It is reported that since he has committed to helping, working with The City Hope Foundation. Whose mission is to find cures for all kind of cancers.

Rod Stewart's wife appears on Loose Women as a panelist. I know at least one member has mentioned this issue regarding Penny Lancaster & Rod Stewart when emailing the show. What I was wondering was if you had time would you consider contacting them, as I'm sure it would carry more clout coming from yourself. With the aim of being discussed or even featured on the show with Penny Lancaster and possibly even Rod himself ?

Lyn, on the One Show tonight, you quoted the number of prescriptions issued for T3. Can you please tell me that figure.... my brain has lost that information

It was 4 million with an estimated 300,000 affected

We used the Prescription Cost Analysis to get these figures. In 2012 there were just under 4,000,000 prescriptions for T3. It has been slowly going down since then and last year I think it was something like 3,600,000.

Because we can't tell if the prescriptions were for one month's supply or three, it's difficult to guage exactly how many people are taking it.

lynmynott - I read 2015 was 77,000 prescriptions. So your 3.6 million is somewhat different.

Excellent. The reporter Deborah Cohen could have emphasised the amount people suffer without a bit more I think. But great coverage.

Although what Concordia had to say was a bit of a joke. Let's hope this bill means the government can get to the bottom of it.
