hi! so my recent blood test came back and said my thyroid levels are circulating well and my tsh levels are low which is good. however they have now said that i have high alkaline phosphate. and its completely thrown me. how much iron should i be taking? on this range at my doctors they said my iron was 30 which was in the middle of the scale? what iron supplements do you reccomend? thank!

I'm not the best one to ask about iron as it's probably the one thing I don't need to take! Do a separate post asking, you'll get better help that way.

I've read you should be mid range though. Maybe you could get enough with diet anyway. Meat, dark greens and stout.

Not enough t3? How much t3 and t4 are you on?

hi jo xx

im taking 100 t4 and 50t3. however ive had a blood test back and said this is good and my tsh is low which is good but ive got too much alkaline phosphate which could be why im still getting these symptons. any idea how much iron i should be taking to lower my alkaline phosphate in my liver?

What are your blood results.? They maybe aren't optimal. I also have high alkaline phosphatase . The last time it was tested it was 214 and that had come down from 237. Nothing else was done about it. That was 3 years ago.

If your iron level is in the middle of the ranges that seems good. I've read that high alkaline phosphate can be due to hyperparathyroidism or vitamin D deficiency. Get the Dr to do further testing.

Yeah I think it's hyperparathyroidism. Having another blood test next week. So will get a copy. I think it was just below middle but I think it does explain my fatigue and low ferritin and cause high alkaline as well?!

Yes would explain all that 😩

It's a never ending round of investigations. (Mostly by us not the Drs...)

Good luck
