You are very under medicated to have TSH 6.20, FT4 below range and FT3 low in range. What dose Levothyroxine were you taking before you switched to Thyroid-S and how much Thyroid-S are you taking?
Thyroid peroxidase antibodies are positive for autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's). There is no cure for Hashimoto's which causes 90% of hypothyroidism. Treatment is for the low thyroid levels it causes. Many people have found that 100% gluten-free diet is helpful in reducing Hashi flares, symptoms and eventually antibodies.
Hi thanks for your prompt reply, I was taking 125of levothyroxine 5 days per week and 100 on 2 days. I had remaining symptoms so I changed to NDT from Thiroyd from Thailand, which has been great, hardly any symptoms. The problem being I did not know how or where I was re TSH etc. I'm not on Thyroid S I have increased my NDT to 3 tablets from 2.
2 grains Thiroyd is roughly equivalent to 125mcg Levothyroxine. Perhaps you were under medicated on 125mcg. I would continue with 3 grains Thiroyd for 6-8 weeks and have another thyroid blood test including FT3 before increasing further. Most people taking NDT will feel well when TSH is <1.0 with FT3 5.0-6.8. FT4 will usually be lower than when taking Levothyroxine and sometimes will be below range.
