Do you know what your T4 levels have been? It would be good to post the ranges for your results and I'm assuming it's free T3 that's increased.

in reply to DoubleM

Yes free T3 ....increased why free T3 increased so quickly any idea ? Stress or overmedication ? Low dopamine ? Low serotonin ? Male menopause ? Im 45 years old .l remember l went to emergency A&E 14 December 2015 l said l don't feel very well doctor said nothing wrong with you send me home ! It was strange because my thyroid level was high !! Unbelieveable .......

But how are you feeling now? Are you in balance? You are quoting results that are over a year old - why are those so important to you? Many of us here have experience of doctors who don't or didn't know enough about thyroid to treat us effectively and have moved on and recovered our health. Also the thyroid can often be unpredictable with many variables including diet and intolerances, nutrient status, other conditions, etc all having an impact on the severity of issues, symptoms experienced, etc so everything has to be tailored to the individual and how they respond so it can take a while to balance it. Short-term hyper is very unlikely to cause any lasting damage so why your apparently extreme concern now, over a year later?

If you are seeking advice on your current health, then please provide your recent test results -including ranges- and members will be able to advise.

Yes I understand but l couldn't see any my blood test results anytime l trusted the doctors decision .after my hand tremor start l asked medical centre could you please print all my blood test results since 2008 she said yes no problem l paid £20 pound then l was checking my blood test results. I know my body really well l know exactly which day my hand tremor start. It was February 2016 so l checked all my blood test results find out my thyroid levels dangerously was going up! 1 July 2015 7.66pmol ---September 8.63pmol ---January 2016 --9.30pmol and March -11.86.l think that's why my hand shaking. I'm % 99 percent sure.I'm worried because maybe damage my brain or my body.

I understand you really well Gillian but everything was fine until that day l was OK no side effects my life was normal! Just one day changed my life .happened so quickly ! Doctors didn't called me or says be careful your thyroid levels dangerously high! People saying graves disease lower dopamine levels inside the brain you don't even know! It's scary !

Thank you l understand but something happened to me between 1 July 2015 and March 2016 because I was taken my tablets my thyroid levels was still going up so quickly .it was strange why? It was dangerous because doctors didnt say anything. after that suddenly my hand tremor start! It was a like stroke !! I was shocked! Happened so quickly .it's scary because l didn't know my thyroid levels was high! I was fine untill 2015 December after that time antithyroid medication didnt protect me l thought 8 years quite long time taken antithyroid medication. I was worried about side effects. Because some people saying graves disease lower dopamine and serotonin level inside the brain.

The shaking was because you had too much t3 in your system caused by your over-active thyroid. Auto-immune - Graves and Hashis - are unpredictable and attacks can come at any time. In Hashis that will cause hyper symptoms briefly before a crash back into hypo. With Graves I presume (I am hashis) it is the opposite - attacks cause increases in hyper symptoms before a return to a more normal level. I believe what you were experiencing was a Graves flare-up. Did it then return to a more normal level? Is your medication now sorted or have you been offered any alternative treatment?

Could I ask - what has caused your interest now in something that actually happened 18 months ago? Is there some reason you are talking about medical negligence and not being told? What has given you an idea of possible brain damage?

Don't believe everything Dr Google tells you. The main thing with any of this is to keep it under control. And you have never answered any questions about that. As i have already said. Any shaking was caused by the over stimulation caused by too much t3 not Parkinson's. If you have a specific worry about Parkinson's and any possible link with graves then please post that as a separate post.

OK I understand but 8 years I was diagnosed overactive thyroid and I was OK untill December 2015 no side effects nothing! suddenly coming from nowhere February 2016 just one day hand start shake it's scary! I was shocked because doctorsand thyroid specialist never mentioned parkinson disease! How do you feel?it's scary If I knew l shouldn't wait for rai treatment 8 years. It was lack of communication with doctors and thyroid specialist. Rai treatment simple treatment! Poorly treated! Do you understand how l feel?

Hand tremors are a symptom of Graves, I had them quite badly, couldn't hold a glass/cup of drink in one hand. When my levels came down the shakes stopped.

Maybe your levels continued to climb because you weren't on enough PTU? Were you on the same amount all the time?

in reply to Silver_Fairy

Yes I was taken 150 mg in the morning 150 mg in the evening almost 8 years after hand shake start my GP And thyroid specialist reduced my tablets he said 150 mg in the morning (PTU) it was strange they reduced my antithyroid medication dose after hand tremors

in reply to Silver_Fairy

Yes maybe, but strange things when my T3 hormone levels first 7.66pmol (high) and 8.63pmol (high) l felt nothing I was on holiday that time then t3 still going up i didnt know anything about it.then level was 9.30pmol l feel awful suddenly low mood, anxiety, stress and back pain

You trust the doctors and thyroid specialist and they ignored you not monitored your illness properly! And hand start shaking how do you feel? Yes April 2017 my hand still shaking .thank you talking to me

Rai treatment was so easy treatment doctors watch me taken antithyroid medication 8 years! 8 years quite long time for illness ! I didn't know anything about overactive thyroid problem .not my fault it's my old GP and thyroid specialist fault why don't you say :thyroid medication not controlling your thyroid yo need permanent treatment simple communication.

RAI isnt really an 'easy treatment' as it will eventually leave the patient hypO. When this happens it will be more to luck that they find a knowledgeable GP who knows how to treat them efficiently.

Thank you very much for help 😀 its scary you don' know what's going on inside your body .I think I'm poorly treated I'm from Lincolnshire uk .lincolnshire NHS health services not very good :( :( GP and thyroid specialist don't care about low mood or depression .14 December 2015 ( my thyroid level was high ) Emergency l called my GP l said : l don't feel very well he said go to pilgrim hospital Boston ( Lincolnshire ) l went to A&E and wait there 4 hours for doctor .after blood test result doctor said nothing wrong with you only anxiethy go home ! I went to home after new year( 2016) l had another blood test (13 January 2016) sleaford road medical centre Boston . my thyroid level was very high free T3 9.30 pmol/L ( 3.1-6.8 ) outside reference range T4 : 14.2 ( 12.0-22.0) TSH 0.01 ( 0.27-4.2) then 10 February l had numbness both my hands and my left hand start shaking .😔😔😔😡😡😡😡😡 2016 >>>2017 almost one year my left hand still shaking ! Do you understand why l feel angry ?

I shouldn't wait almost 8 years for RAI treatment and l shouldn't take 8 years antithyroid medication propylthiouracil ! High dose propylthiouracil (300 mg ) every day it's crazy ........

I have looked back through your previous posts and it seems that we are going in circles. You are now apparently optimally medicated for hyperthyroidism, having had a sudden flare and going out of range, meaning that you were under-medicated on a dose on which you had previously been stable. You have had plenty of explanations and advice from many different members, including several administrators. They have explained your previous condition and symptoms very well. Yet here you are with the same questions again. Could I ask what part of previous explanations you didn't understand and maybe we can explain that part in a different way?

Anger and what could be perceived to be ranting - no matter how justified you believe it to be - will not help you manage your condition and make decisions about future treatment. What is your aim - is to to control your condition and improve your health? Or is it something else?

in reply to startagaingirl

OK thanks l understand but you don't know how l feel! my hand shaking really badly because poorly treated. i was shocked 😕 it's a like you have overactive thyroid illness 8 years suddenly one day they say opps sorry mate you have cancer.hand tremor related parkinson disease it's scary! !! Why doctor didn'the say anything about it

They didn't say overactive thyroid very dangerous illness you can get parkinson disease. ......I'm 45 years old I don't smoke or drink my graves disease 8 years ago it was very mild
