Char7c,

If you are supplementing iron you should stop because Ferritin is over range. If you are not supplementing the usual reason for ferritin being high is inflammation somewhere in the body.

CRP is an inflammation marker and yours is within range so not high.

TSH 1.47 is low-normal, FT4 is slightly below mid-range and FT3 is under mid-range. Results are euthyroid (normal) but if you are taking Levothyroxine there is scope for a small dose increase to raise FT4 and FT3.

Thyroid peroxidase antibodies are positive for autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's). There is no cure for Hashimoto's which causes 90% of hypothyroidism. Treatment is for the low thyroid levels it eventually causes. Many people have found that 100% gluten-free diet is helpful in reducing Hashi flares, symptoms and eventually antibodies.

Vitamin D is barely better than deficient. I would supplement 10,000iu D3 daily for 6-8 weeks then reduce to 5,000iu daily and retest late July/August.

B12 and folate are good.

Wow thanks.

Tuesday a goitre appeared and that's the first I've known so new to all this, dot take any vitamins or supplements.

Docs did bloods and came back TSH 1.78

Abs 61

This was Thursday. The above results are just in

Char7c,

NHS won't usually diagnose hypothyroidism until TSH is over range or FT4 below range. If you adopt 100% gluten-free diet it may delay progression to hypothyroidism.

Ok that's good to know thank you!

Do you know if my goitre will go with this?!

Unsure what you mean, Your goitre or your Hash's will remain until your thyroid function is destroyed or lowered and then you will have to go on thyroid hormone replacement. Some have a very quick onset with a large goitre and others (like myself) have multiple goitres that flare for years. My antibodies are TgAb's not TPO's so thats perhaps why

AH ok. I've got a doctors appointment today to discuss my results. Fingers crossed they act

Sorry to hear about your Hashimoto's Thyroiditis and your goiter. I just got back my antibodies today, too, and I'm over the range too. Guess we are in the same boat, except I am in the U.S. and I am praying that my Endo will prescribe me some med(s) even though my TSH and T4 are both low...

Sorry to hear that. From what I hear the chance that I get to see an Endo is slim! I'm still waiting for my ultrasound as I'm hoping this may shed some light too. It makes me gag as I can feel it on my throat :-/

You need a Qualified supportive Endo especially if you have a goitre as that must be checked.

My Thyroid antibodies are in the 1000's and no diet on the land helped me, mine just flares terribly if I have any iodine rich foods

I dont think we are qualified to help you with your Hashi's or your Goitre issues as if that grows you will need a Fine Needle aspiration, but I am sure everyone here is here to guide and support you

In time as your thyroid is destroyed your thyroid function will decline, but until that point please get under the care of a very good endo

I'm booking an appointment with the doctor tomorrow to discuss the tests and will see what they say. Am also waiting on an ultrasound. Thank you

Just checking but are your TgAb 114?

If so you need to keep a check on that as that is borderline also
