Armour Thyroid

Due to the NHS changes in prescribing Liothyronine, (I take thyroxine and liothyronine), I want to ask my GP to prescribe Armour or similar. If they will not (and I'm not holding my breath) could someone please pm me details of where I can buy Armour without a prescription? Thank you so much in advance.

Be careful.

I strongly suspect that anyone who stops getting liothyronine - no matter the promises and reassurances at the time - will never get it back.

Also, I would not be at all surprised to see desiccated thyroid in the next wave. (Yes, am sure there will be a next wave and a third wave.)

I think the same as you too. The NHS bringing in 'quotas' which will cause many people severe stress which isn't a good thing if hypo.

These uneducated doctors who know little about the function of thyroid hormones should give up their licences. Just because they may have a qualification doesn't mean that they have common sense, i.e. take no notice of patients symptoms and prescribe. They'd save a fortune by not taking blood tests and returning to the 'old fashioned' way of diagnosing and return to NDT or levo for those who do well on it.

I agree, very stressful.

Thanks, helvella for the advice.

So with Liothyronine, will all GPs eventually have to stop prescribing it on the NHS, or is it up to the individual practices?

I think new prescriptions are pretty much not happening now. Just a question of whether there will be more positive effort to get existing recipients off...
