Hello everyone. I hope you are feeling well. Would like to ask ladies here whether their period changed after they started T3 treatment. I used to have very light period with long cycles. After T3 my periods became very regular, but short (24 days as opposed to 31 days before) and heavier. Everywhere I look it is a sign of hypo , but I am not hypo anymore by any other indicators including pulse and temperature. So confused :( Maybe you will be kind enough to share your experiance ( PM is ok if privacy is an issue). Love you all for helping me so much to cope with all of this. Have a great day xxxx

May I ask your age? This could be a matter of sex hormones overriding thyroid hormone.

Interesting that t3 helped regulate your periods. Me too! I went from long cycles to very light regular 28-day cycles and the angels sang. Then age intervened and suddenly there may be an unmanageable tidal wave any random day of the month. Fun!

I hoped T3 would be the answer to my problems but it gave me terrible insomnia so I have stopped for now. I think that's down to high cortisol which I need to sort out first. While I was on it my cycles were 23 days for 2 months running which hasn't happened before. My periods have been all over the place since my teens. Ranging between 23 and 39 days but always very heavy.

The other thing perhaps is that after the age of 30 progesterone levels do fall sharply so that's another thing to consider. I'm not sure if that is helpful but I thought I'd mention it.

My sleep has recovered somewhat so yes I am feeling a bit better thank you for asking. I think I have a long road ahead. The other thing I am considering doing at some point is testing all hormones using the DUTCH test but I need to sort out my adrenals and thyroid first.

All the best and I hope you find answers to your issues.
