T3 without prescription. PM where to get please.

Hi there, after watching trust me I'm a doctor, I am wondering if you can tell me where to get T3. I have been on 150mg levothyroxine for years and been battling the DR as he wants to put me down to 100mg even though when he does I feel awful. Well more awful than I usually feel, colder, dryer skin and just knackered all the time. Wondered if a boost of t3 would do the trick. Can anyone tell me their trusted supplier without a prescription? Please PM me. Thanks Sue x

Welcome to the forum, Eastas.

Can you post your recent thyroid results and ranges (ranges are the figures in brackets after results)? I suspect your GP may be adjusting your dose because TSH is low. If so, adding T3 will also suppress TSH which may then result in your GP further reducing Levothyroxine dose.

Do you usually feel well on 150mcg Levothyroxine?

I don't have any results, the Dr says that they don't release then. Only calling you back if there is something wrong. Therefore I have no idea what my leversion are or indeed if they have fluctuated over the years. Do they have to release them?

Eastas,

Yes, they do, the Data Protection Act entitles patients to their test results and ranges. Ask the senior GP receptionist or practice manager for the results. If they refuse tell them you will make a written subject access request. If they ignore your request report them to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Got results from Dr for last two years. It appears they are only testing TSH. my result was 5.4 (0.4-5.5)

Thanks for posting the above query and replies. I'm in a similar situation. Been taking levothyroxine for about 12 years and over the last couple of years Docs have reduced this to half that dose telling me that I was being 'over prescribed and it's not good for women over 50 to be taking such high dosage' I contested this but then gave in to see how I would feel and to give them the benefit of the doubt. 6 months later and I'm now on only 75mg and I feel awful! And I took early retirement from teaching last autumn so I can't equate it with my previously exhausting profession! Now that I have more time, I am determined to become more knowledgable about the range readings of my test results so joining this forum is very helpful. Thank you all. Ive just had another blood test and was told my results were 'satisfactory' whatever that means! I'm having another in 2 weeks and have an appointment with a senior Nurse just after so will be asking lots of questions and will know what to ask now! I know the whole illness is complicated but hopefully I will be feeling better when my dose is increased again.
