Thyroid energy by joy spring

Has anyone tried thyroid energy tablets. I am struggling to take supplements without being sick. I space them out throughout the day but my tummy is so sensitive. I am hoping two of these thyroid energy a day will be good enough.

I purchased them off amazon but there are so many thyroid supplements out there I find it overwhelming.

Tanya-B Don't get sucked in.

2 capsules =

Vitamin B12 100mcg,

Iodine (kelp) 150mcg,

Magnesium (oxide) 200 mg,

Zinc (oxide) 8mg,

Selenium (amino acid chelate) 200mcg,

Copper (oxide) 200mcg,

Manganese (amino acid chelate) 2mg,

Molybdenum (amino acid chelate) 50mcg,

L Tyrosine 300mcg,

Schisandra Powder (fruit) 240mg,

Ashwagandha Root Powder 200mg,

Bladderwrack Powder (thallus) 50mg,

Cayenne Pepper Powder (fruit) 30mg

Kelp 38mg.

There's too little B12 to do anything and what there is will be destroyed by stomach acid, B12 needs to be sublingual.

Iodine 150mcg plus Kelp 38mg - we shouldn't supplement with iodine unless we are deficient (testing needed) and then under the guidance of an experienced practioner.

Magnesium oxide is the cheapest, worst and least absorbable form.

No need to go any further.

Have you had vitamins and minerals tested?

What are you supplementing and in what form?

If you don't get on with tablets and capsules, quite a few come in powder form so you can make a drink by dissolving in a little juice, or liquid form such as drops.

You should only supplement what is needed. For minerals, a good multi mineral without calcium, iodine and iron can be taken.

I am going to organise a private blood test to see what I am lacking in.

Thanks for your reply

Tanya_B,

Thyroid supplements aren't a replacement for adequate doses of Levothyroxine. You need a dose increase to bring TSH down to 1.0 or lower.

Yes I think you are right. I see Dr Toft in three weeks I think he will increase my levo thyroxine

Tanya-B,

Read Dr. Toft's comments in Treatment Options. They were published in Pulse around 8 years ago. Email louise.roberts@thyroiduk.org.uk for a copy of the full article.
