Good afternoon,

i have finally taken the plunge and ordered T3 (Thank for all the info) But yes you guessed my next question. How much T3 should I take, How do you take it I am sure I have read that it should be split through the day And finally should i take this in addition to the 150mcg I am currently taking or reduce my levo?

My results 20th January 2017 are as follows;

TSH 0.03 (0.34-5.4) Endo advises too low!!

T4 20 (9-24)

T3 1.5 (0.9-2.5)

Any advice greatly appreciated

Kind regards

Maud :)

Maud04,

I would quarter a tablet and take 6.25mcg T3 with 150mcg Levothyroxine. See how you tolerate 6.25mcg for a couple of weeks. If necessary, add a second dose of 6.25mcg at bedtime. Hold at 12.5mcg for 6-8 weeks and have a FT3 test before increasing further.

I also suggest the same as Clutter. I would just add that I took my first dose before getting up, when I added in a second dose I took it mid afternoon. I eventually changed and took my whole dose in one go before I get up, which is what I still do now. I haven't noticed any difference personally but it doesn't suit everyone doing it that way. It's trial and error really. But low and slow is the way to go, don't be tempted to rush things.

Test periodically after a dose increase to keep an eye on FT3 level which ideally should stay within range.

Oh, and your endo still won't like your TSH

Many thanks SeasideSuzie,

I know he will not like it but read that Biotin can alter results and I have been taking Jarrows B12 and the Bcomplex which has Biotin included in the list So have stopped taking the complex for now and will see what happens!

Kind regards

Maud

Maud04,

It is large doses of biotin (in the milligrams) which can be problematic. A small dose in a B complex is unlikely to be a problem especially if you avoid taking it until after your blood test.

Thanks clutter.

It is so difficult knowing what to do !

Injections for B12 deficiency so I read you should balnce the B's with a complex (Good to know I can start again)

Iron with vit C

Does it ever end?! :)

Kind regards

Maud
