Update since supplementing Vits for 3 weeks

As I wrote previously, I was on Metformin 1000mg for a "diagnosis" of Type 2 diabetes, which after advice on here, I found out that it was the culprit in malabsorption of B12 (mine was 199 and insufficient). With Drs agreement I stopped taking the Metformin and started supplementing B12, Selenium,Vit C, Magnesium,Folate, D3+K2. I eat Liver to address slightly lower Ferritin and have adopted a HFLC diet cutting out gluten and milk. I drink Puerh black tea too. I am amazed at the difference this has made to my life, I am so full of energy and zest for life once more. My HBAC1 came back with normal blood glucose results, so Type 2 appears to be history too. An added bonus is 12lbs of that horrible, unshiftable weight has melted away in just 3 weeks. I realise that is a bit quick, but it is like some blockage has been released and I am functioning as I should have been for the last 15 years. It's probably "water weight" but boy does it feel good. Thanks for the good advice on the forum, it's been invaluable in getting Dr on board.

Thanks SeasideSusie, you were a great help x

Wow fantastic news, well done. I have gestational diabetes and on insulin injections 4 times a day now, metformin gave me such a bad tummy, head and sickness. I can't seem to be able to control any of it at all. Nearly passed out today at the bus stop with my kids whilst getting a hypo. Wasn't fun x

Ooh that's horrid for you. My eldest son has been insulin dependent for 32 years now and I have lived all his "hypos" with him, not a nice thing to happen. Do you keep Glucagon at home and carry accessible glucose all the time. I'm sure you do. It's such a worry. Hope you can get some resolution to your problems soon x

Thanks yes I carry glucose tablets in my bag. I am counting down the days until the baby arrives and hoping it goes after she is born. I have total respect for anyone who is permanently diabetic now. Must be really tough seeing your son go through that x
