Can someone tell me how I'm coming along. My Endo called to tell me my blood results. My Tsh level is 0.33 and my Free 4 is 1.0 I'm still taking 5 mg of Methmaziole once a day. I appreciate any comments. Thank you.

How do you feel.? Your T4 is very low indeed, you're a bit hypo just starting, what did endo say? Do you feel tired cold ?

All she said was that it was a little too high, and too continue taking my 5 mg of methimazole once a day. I've been feeling good, just didn't know where I'm at, if it was good or bad, and what should be done about it. Thanks for your respond. I didn't know I was a little hypo. I wonder why she didn't decrease my methimazole to 2.5

If your T4 range is as before (0.8 - 1.8), then 1.0 is not too high. It is towards the lower end of your range.

Your TSH has started rising which is a good sign. It means that your antibodies are reducing. The endo is probably waiting for your TSH to rise further before he/she starts reducing your methimazole.

If you feel good then you are on the right amount of methimazole. Never let the doctor alter your meds because of blood tests, it's how we feel that matters.

What is the "normal range" for your FT4, with units?

Eddie83 I don't know since my Doctor called me by phone and gave me results. I'll probably go tomorrow to pick up my results. I know she said it was 1.0 any comments I appreciate. Oh and tsh level was 0.33

TSH=0.33 is fine. The AACE range for that is 0.3<TSH<3.0. The 0.5-5.0 range used by many labs is a crock.

Why is that Eddie83? What I wonder is that she says its a little high so like 2 months ago my Specialist said I had to go up from 2.5 methimazole once a day to 5 mg methimazole once a day cause it was a little high ?? But she didn't say what was high. I had assumed it was tsh. But she said no that it was low and that's why she upped it to 5 mg, but thats when it was 0.01 last month. Now its 0.33 this month and told me to keep taking the 5 mg cause its still low...I'm confused with her now.

Did the doc give you a TSI (Thyroid Stimulating Immunoglobulin) test to confirm that you have Graves? If so, she may be referring to the TSI Index. Apparently the index cutoff is 1.3, I believe that means you are diagnosed with Graves if you are over 1.3. But I really don't know much about this ... the doc should have explained it to you. Hope she isn't an adherent of the "mushroom" method of patient relations!

I was diagnosed as having hashimoto and graves disease back in September by her, and in the hospital I was diagnosed as having hashimoto only. But symptoms of graves by fast heart, and loosing weight, I've always been slim. I've noticed my hair falling out in the past but never gone bald, I have a lot of hair. I had the results with my specialist but lost the papers on them results of having both, I remember the results as being high numbers like hashimoto being in the 500 and graves like 400 and something. Thanks Eddie83

The doc should be giving you advice on how to reduce your high antibody counts. Doc should be looking for food sensitivities, high levels of environmental pollutants, etc.

Oh she doesn't tell me nothing about that. Only to take my medicine as prescribe. I've been reading a book called the juice lady, and its about smoothies for the Thyroid. Its a pretty good book to read.

Eddie83 do you think I have high antibody counts?

Don't have a clue! ... since your doc has apparently not given you copies of all your lab work.

Is 0.01 lower than 0.33 on a tsh level? Thanks Eddie83

TSH=0.01 means you have less Thyroid Stimulating Hormone in your bloodstream, than if TSH=0.33. So you will be producing less hormone in your thyroid when TSH=0.01, than when TSH=0.33.
