Are there dietary restrictions in regard to Thyroid Uptake Scan?

Just realized I got no information about dietary restrictions from my doctor and maybe I should have. I stumbled on a list of things not to take or eat a week before your scan (and I have a sushi date with a friend tomorrow 😢). Wondering if the list is still valid.

What things should I not eat before this scan and are there things I shouldn't eat between taking the pill and the 6hr and 24hr scans?

You should have been advised if there are any dietary restrictions prior to a thyroid uptake scan. I would check with the physician ordering the scan in case you need to reschedule if you are supposed to adopt a low iodine diet.
