I have finally managed to get a referral letter from my GP, and am now looking for a private endocrinologist in the London area (London Bridge/St Thomas's are near me) but willing to travel.
Ideally looking for someone who will take my symptoms seriously and look at the whole picture (B12/Vitamin D/ folate/ferritin levels) and high antibody levels, rather than completely ignoring them and just prescribing Levo.
Many thanks all.

Email louise.roberts@thyroiduk.org.uk for a list of member recommended endos.
There is no cure for Hashimoto's which causes 90% of hypothyroidism. Treatment is for the low thyroid levels it causes and in the UK Levothyroxine is the preferred treatment although a private endo may be agreeable to prescribing Liothyronine (T3) or NDT instead. Many people have found that 100% gluten-free diet is helpful in reducing Hashi flares, symptoms and eventually antibodies.
B12, folate, vitamin D and ferritin are nothing to do with thyroid. Correcting low or deficient levels with supplements will improve general well being and may improve metabolism of thyroid medication. If you post your results and ranges members will advise whether you need to supplement.
Hello, sorry. I have only just seen your message and I hope that you have already found someone who can help you but if not, I have an excellent
endriconologist in London who is also a general physician as well as being an exceedingly nice and kind man. Do let me know if you would like his details.
I would love to have your doctros details - could you please send these over to my email: pjargielo@yahoo.com. Does he support treating Hupothorodism with NDT?
