Hello guys , I'm a 20 year old female my symptoms are as follow - weight gain , fatigue , hair loss , forgetfulness , constantly feeling down , headaches . I feel like my body is failing me . When i started to experience the symptoms I thought it was due to my anemia ( I did a blood test and was told my hemoglobin was low but then recently my neck started to swell me being naive I put it down to weight gain but then one day my teacher( she is a dr I'm in medical school ) noticed and told me to go see an endocrinologist I went to see the specialist and they performed an ultrasound and found no nodules and my Bloodwork( TSH , TPO antibody & TG antibody ) fell within the Normal range . My doctor says he might refer me to see a throat specialist because upon examination of my swollen neck I felt pain and Ive started coughing more. I can tell my dr doesn't think I have a thyroid problem but I feel like my symptoms are very similar to hypothyroidism . I just feel really lost and its affected my semester because I am always feel down , tired, faint and the constant headaches sometimes i just don't feel like getting out of bed and my sleeping patterns are messed up . My question is for people with hypothyroidism are my symptoms similar to yours sorry for the long messages I just need to get some answers .

Also my body temperature randomly changes like all of a sudden my body will be really warm but I'll feel cold this especially happens when I finish eating and then I get really tired

Thanks

Hi DollyRB, and welcome to the forum.

Your blood work rules out autoimmune thyroiditis (Hashimoto's) and primary hypothyroidism but without FT4 and/or FT3 it isn't possible to rule out secondary hypothyroidism (central hypothyroidism). Perhaps you can persuade someone to run a Free T4 blood test for you.

Also get fT3 along with fT4, just in case both are low normal.
