Been using mercury pharma levo for 2 years and I have been doing very well. sadly it has gotten out of stock here in Uganda. I am dreading the misery I was in when I was on actavis. I was basically hypo even while on meds.

Ronnah,

Sorry to hear that. It's always very annoying when the medication one needs becomes available. Have you contacted Mercury Pharma's customer service dept. to find out when it will become available again?

It happened to me on my last prescription as well, I'm in the UK and they discontinued it so they gave me actavis and I got so ill, I checked on line at the mercury pharma and it said it was back again. I phoned the chemist I used and asked them if they could get me some. they phoned pharma and they only do bottles of 1000 now not the blister pack like they used to be so I know get 100 in a bottle at a time. The pharmacist also told me that these company's take them off when they want to change an ingredient in them, mine were off line for about a month so ask your pharmacist if they can check for you. I did read some where that teva which is also owned by mercury pharma has also changed their ingredients which are a lot better as they have taken a couple of ingredients out in which one is lactose so if I can't get my mercury pharma again I will ask my pharmacist to try and get these. since being back on the mercury pharma ones I haven't felt as good so can only assume they have put something even cheaper in the ingredients.

I think someone has misinformed you. :-(

Mercury Pharma levothyroxine has had some supply issues - from time to time we get some posts that it, or some particular dosage, is hard to find. Overall they continue to have their levothyroxine products made for them as always and in the same packaging. That is, blister packs.

Mercury Pharma have not made any changes to their list of ingredients. Of course, behind the scenes, they could have changed where they get some ingredient or other. But there have been no ingredient changes that are visible to us.

The only change of which I am aware is that the physical tablets now have different letters on them. They say "LT" and a number. This also meant the documentation had to be changed to reflect that.

Teva is not owned by Mercury Pharma. Actually, Mercury Pharma isn't owned by Mercury Pharma, nor Amdipharm, but by a large Canadian company - Concordia.
