No diagnosis for vit b12 and/or autoimmunity

Hi, does anybody really recommend a self vitamin b12 testing kit.in my health trust the laboratories have a different score to rest of your and tests are borderline or just within normal limits.gps still use labs even though they are aware of this.just gobsmacked! Regards to all readers😥

If I were you I would join the PA forum, and look at the b12 websites, such as b12deficiency.info

By the way, all labs differ in their ranges, that's one of several problems with the flawed blood tests. You can have a test privately via blue horizon, but that problem will still exist.

What is your result? A level below 500 is generally seen as deficient, even though doctors won't accept it. A level of 1000 is recommended to prevent both cognitive and neurological impairment. Do you have symptoms? You can start using b12 sublingual lozenges, but I would recommend you join the PA forum for more advice.

Hi, thanks for your reply, will have look at pa forum. We think it's more than b12 needed.alot has occurred with lots of symptoms now relating to autoimmunity itself, and it's looking like I have it some 15 years if not longer.past year has be a nightmare. Just went down, and all my life fell apart. However , will be trying even harder to get all results I can .have stopped vit b ,d, and calcium/magnesium for a week ready for upcoming tests. Salty mouth, and sore tongue bad, but breathlessness is unnerving ,as is the awful shakiness etc?thanks again.☺

Hi again. May be getting ahead slightly! Woke up with red rash on chest again and a very noticeable wide white band under lower lip going from one side to the other and not well atall. Had extra blood taken at test as still unwell and saw yet another doctor who listened,examined and asked pertinent questions. Got special creams ,lozenges to help saliva and a possible diagnoses of sardacosis.wont hold my breath tho.oh and more stuff for my eyes. It's a start.have to wait for results.at least she asked bout medical history. Kind regards to you and any other person who reads this☺
