YaA,

You had RAI and have been medicating levothyroxine but sound horribly under medicated. How much Levo are you medicating ? ? ..

It is important to take your pill on an empty stomach with a glass of water, 1 hour before food, 2 hours before supplements and 4 hours before calcium, iron or vit D supplements.

Also, ask your GP to test Vit B12, folate, ferritin, Vit D and post results complete with ranges (numbers in brackets) for members to comment, as these nutrients are required for good thyroid hormone synthsis.

Are you menopausal or taking HRT ? ? ...

Testing thyroid hormones T4 and T3 will give you a much clearer picture of your thyroid function. When GP's are uncooperative, members use private labs - link below.

Can you explain what your TSH is 56. What's the difference in thyroid hormone levels that cause Graves disease ? ?

Youngandannoyed,

75mcg Lethyroxine is a low dose for someone who has had their thyroid ablated. Has your GP increased your dose?
