Hello all,

TSH 0.08, ( 0.38 - 5.5 miu/L) FT4 12.5, ( 10 - 18.7 pmol/L) FT3 5 ( 3.5 - 6.5pmol/L )

I'm currently on 112g of levo and don't feel any better, do I have a conversion/resistance problem?

I really don't know what to do as my G.P. won't increase my meds, I'm not even sure that's what I need?

Any advice?

I'm no expert but I think your ft4 is on the lower end of normal range so perhaps you need to raise t4?

Hi. Your results are identical to my latest! (actually not - your FT3 is good at 5). I'm on 118mcg day - courtesy of fiddling by gp and progressively declining in health. GP is thrilled bc my TSH is now back in range from being suppressed. Great (not).

Your FT4 is low and needs raising. Could need more levo. This forum is really helpful on learning about all the above so if you haven't already trawl through all the reading.

Have you had your vitamin levels tested? I'm just going through that process now to rule out other issues before I confront her again with the fact I am clearly still suffering hypo symptoms and need more action on that front.

Ask for VitD, iron panel, B12, folate levels to be tested. I was found to be D and folate deficient which I've been prescribed (not enough) supplements for. I'm hoping this will improve my symptoms.

Have you seen an endocrinologist? If not recently, perhaps request a referral?

I'm sure there's more - I'll post more after checking my notes.

Good luck!

@greygoose is right - the FT3 is mid-range at 5. I read it as 3.5!! (which is what mine hovers round, and I do have a suspected conversion issue...) Sorry!

Get reverse T3 tested and check out your adrenals.

Your tsh is a little low which leads me to believe your meds might need to be lowered some

You do not lower 'meds' because of a low TSH. You lower 'meds' because of over-range FT3. The OP's FT3 is only mid-range, so lowering would be disastrous.

No, you don't appear to have a conversion problem. But you could need a higher FT3 level. It's only just mid-range. So, an increase in dose would be in order.

However, your doctor is only looking at the TSH - which is low, and they don't like low TSH - and doesn't appear to understand the Frees. And it is very difficult to educate an ignorant doc. So, either you try to wear him down by nagging; or you change your doctor; or you self-treat.

But, as others have suggested, it would be a good idea to get your antibodies tested, as well as your vit D, vit B12, folate and ferritin. :)

I've had this myself, sought two opinions and they say it's adrenal fatigue, the thyroid crashes because it cannot handle the increased levels of T4/Levothyroxine and it's the body trying to down regulate to match the energy the adrenals can create IE slow down. Read the link maybe you'll have a couple of lightbulb moments...

Thank you all for your comments

Before I was diagnosed my FT3 was always above range and it had remained that way or at the very top until may last test results, which show it going down along with my FT4 ( FT4 on my last few tests before had been above range ). My TSH since starting meds has hovered around where it is now. I do have high TPO anti-bodies which indicates hashis. My B12 was low at 212 but not low enough for my G.P. as was my folate so I self medicate which has increased these levels significantly. I think my Vit D is ok.

I'm just a bit confused as to why my FT3 and 4 are now decreasing?
