The day before yesterday blood work was done on my TSH level...Doctor called and said it was good news because I won't have to take 5 mg of Methimazole but 2.5 mg of it once in the Morning. I forgot to ask the reading on it from her on the range. I asked her about me in danger of any heart racing occurring by chance, she said I shouldn't have any. Just right now by eyes felt heavy and checked NY blood pressure and it was 143/66 and pulse was 105 but its now 127/64 and pulse 74 hmm. I don't know if I should still take a quarter of my beta blocker or just go through whatever symptoms come through...just trying to figure it out. Thanks on any comments.

Sarajuarez2912,
Weaning you down to 2.5mg daily will help you to stop taking Methimazole in the future and try for remission. I would only take the beta blocker if heart rate felt uncomfortably fast.
Has anyone here ever recovered from heart racing whole under low dose of Thyroid medication? I'm only taking 2.5 of Methimazole and today I checked my pulse and it was barely felt on my wrist it was 100 while sitting down, I don't know if it was cause I ate a lot, I ate ground beef with potatoes and green beans..I was stuffed then like 20 minutes later I didn't feel good, almost like nausea, I checked my pulse and faint heartbeat of 100 then I guess I panic to recheck and in just 15 seconds on the watch my pulse reached 39 I pop a quarter beta blocker and took like 10 minutes to slow down to normal. My Specialist thinks I don't need heart pills but I do. She says well if it starts to race take a heart pill...any idea anyone ? Sorry I know I've posted on my heart before. Just wondering how long do I have to be in waiting with my heart being normal again.
