Blood Test Transferrin Sat. Index

Does this make sense to anyone?

I had a load of tests done recently and this one is a tad concerning and I am wondering if this is the Ferritin Test?

It reads:

Transferrin Sat. Index 13%

(Transferrin saturation <20% may suggest oron deficiency whilst saturation >60% suggest iron overload)

It then states that I am normal?!

Can anyone desipher this? Many thanks in advance! ;)

That was supposed to say IRON deficiency! Oops! LOL

Bird-Girl The Ferritin test is called Ferritin or Serum Ferritin. What you have had done is Transferritin Saturation Percentage. It should be part of an iron panel.

This link talks about the different Iron tests

Thank you for your reply!

That makes sense, so next time I see my GP then I will be saying things like "liar liar pants on fire" :P :D

What a saga this is turning out to be!
