Does anyone have the contact details for a private endocrinologist based in Edgbaston?
My wife's GP, who took her off Levo because her bloods were marginally within 'normal range' and despite overwhelming symptoms of being hypo', has admitted that a relative of hers visits this specialist but she is ethicaly bound not to pass on their contact details.
We absolutely understand her predicament but it doesn't help my wife who is becoming sicker and sicker every day and is in urgent need of help!

The goal of Levothyroxine is to restore the patient to euthyroid status. For most patients this will be when TSH is 1.0 or lower with FT4 in the upper range. There's no point in taking a patient off Levothyroxine when normal range has been achieved because levels will become abnormal without Levothyroxine.

For a doctor to stop prescribing levothyroxine due to the blood test alone should be reprimanded. Once diagnosed as hypo we are always hypo and can develop other more serious problems if we are denied hormones.
Can you source your own levo until you see someone suitable? Ask the GP to prescribe until you see the Endo.
