Costly generics -- BBC Radio 4 Inside Health
You can download the MP3 generics starts at 21:45 in. No mention of liothyronine, just bluster from generics rep Warrick Smith. Thanks for posting.
I've just emailed the british generics society to tell him what a useless job he made of defending their crookery. The more attention the better though. They'll get to liothyronine eventually.

"Generic manufacturers and suppliers have freedom of pricing in the UK, with the Government relying on competition to keep prices low. The Government only intervenes in pricing if competition can be seen not to be working. The very competitive environment in the UK means that manufacturers' ex-factory prices are amongst the lowest in Europe."
So according to their website if drug prices are high it's the British Government's fault for not intervening in the market.
