Which Adrenals Tests Should I ask for?

I have posted before about my fatigue specifically during the day time and I was advised that I need a cortisol test. Should I ask for DHEA? what else I need to understand the health of my adrenals? Should I do 24 hrs urine test? or saliva?

Please help as I struggle to find a doctor who understands what I'm going through!

NHS, they have urine test.

An NHS Endo can request a short synacthan test but you'd need to check on timings, fasting etc. I wasn't told any of this so mine was a complete waste of time.

The NHS has carried out your urine test do you mean?

To be honest, your biggest problem is getting an NHS Endo to correctly interpret the results. Many dismiss adrenal fatigue and are only interested in a TSH.

No, not yet. When I spoke to the doctor he mentioned that they can order a 24 hrs urine test.

I did Synacthen test. Here is my results:

First Sample Cortisol(8AM): 199 nmol/l (normal Range: 123-626)

Second Sample Cortisol(9AM after ACTH shot): 560 nmol/l (normal Range: 123-626)

Sorry but haven't a clue how to interpret. Have you seen an NHS Endo?

Yes. and simply they say you are fine, your results are normal, as usual.
