after feeling well for the first time in over a year, my blood results are back, could you please advice?

August has been the best month as I finally had energy! Since this forum's precious and irreplaceable advice, I begun supplementing with Vitamin D, C, iron, B12 and B complex, K2, and continued my HLC and pepsin, cider vinegar/lemon and probiotics.

I am in 125 T4 which I take last thing at night and 10 mcg of T3 at midday.

September did not arrive with that much energy and my hair were in a bad state which is a loud sign. I am sure it is because I did not replace the supplements that run out (mainly iron, C and B12).

Could you please advice on these results as I am going to replace my regular supplements? Many thanks.

TSH 0.01 (0.35-5.00 mu/L) my GP is worried.

FT4 15 (9-19)

Ferritin 48 (10-204)

B12 508 (187-883)

folate 14.5 (3.10-20.5)

FT3 and calcium will come back on Tuesday unfortunately, and they didn't test for vitamin D but I think I should supplement anyway since it was low last time. Your opinions are much appreciated.

Will be helpful to see the FT3 result as it is the important one.

Thanks Musicmonkey you are right. I ll wait to see what the others say as I am keen to replace some of my supplements but I might have to repost the results on Tuesday.

Ferritin is much, much too low - that's probably why you're losing your hair. It needs to be up around 100.

B12 could be a lot higher, optimal is 1000. And, as you were supplementing before the test, that is not an accurate result, and it is probably much lower. Continue with 1000 mcg sublingual methylcobalamin daily, plus a B complex. Your folate is fine. :)

Thank you greygoose i was not on B12 for at least ten days prior to tests so I must be low. Will continue then and wait to see T3 results.

You need to be off B12 for five months to get an accurate reading.

oh, thanks greygoose but I don't think that will happen for a while then!

Sorry, can't advise on iron. I don't know what's available to you in the UK, I live in France, and the one I take is only available in France.
