Polar t3 syndrome

If you're a scientist, 'ingesting a T3 supplement' is just fine.

Pfft! Lightweights...

If they were women with low T3 they'd just be given anti-depressants. If that didn't work they'd be told they had depression, psychosis, bipolar, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, or it was "all in their heads". Alternatively, they would be accused of being non-compliant with their ADs.

On a more serious note...

Thanks for the links, they were very interesting. :)

First you'd have to test it though, so...

That's the solution then, - we emigrate to Antartica to get prescribed T3! and.......

"T3 gets used so much to keep the body warm that the brain is left with a less than adequate supply of the hormone. This can cause the "Antarctic stare," common particularly among winter residents, forgetfulness and lack of focus, as well as increased anger, irritation and depression. "

I think many hypo have the same symptoms as above:

forgetfulness and lack of focus, as well as increased anger, irritation and depression.

but are left out on a limb by having to use T4only.

Doesn't sound as if the winter residents get T3 though, just the scientists. Or are we talking about polar bears...

Maybe we transplant the bears thyroid glands then :)

Yes shaws, how funny that there is no mention of t4 (perhaps there is and I didn't read carefully enough) and how one only needs levo because it is converted to t3 etc.

That treatment is for the rest of us!

We should send all doctors to experience this! They would have some idea how hypo feels like.

If possible worst ones ( I apologise my language) so called "failed abortions" , should be left there long enough they would beg for mercy from robots that keep saying " you should exercise", " don't stress", " you are imagining it", "eat healthy" and all that jibber jabber.

So when they all die of heart attacks and bone loss we ll know the NHS were right. Ha ha ha. Yes if they were women they d just be deemed bonkers.

Fascinating research. It would be useful if we had these before and after T3 cognitive tests. Also interesting that the researchers take note of how scientists are feeling but we're generally ignored! Look forward to reading the final study.

Thanks for posting!

Exactly, and I love how t3 has been demoted to a harmless 'supplement' when for us it is treated like plutonium and/or the work of the devil.
