High cortisol levels- Please help

I am fairly new here and really need some advise please. Last year, or maybe the one before I was told that I may have Cushings. I was told to do a 24 hour urine sample and take a tablet at midnight, then have a blood test the following morning. I was later told that I did not have Cushings. However, nothing has been done since and I have been advised to have the cortisol saliva test done privately. I am pretty sure that I have hypothyroidism although my GP and diabetic specialist say that I don't. Every female in my maternal family has an auto immune illness of one kind or another, including thyroid disease. I also have Crohns disease.

I would be grateful for any advise.

It may also be helpful for you to know that I posted on here 3 years ago and I am no nearer an answer/explanation/diagnosis.

Do you have any other signs & symptoms for Cushing's? I was diagnosed with cushing's 2 years a go & have since had surgery .

The symptoms are high blood pressure, insomnia, excessive weight gain, muscle weakness, fat, red face, stretch marks, excessive hair growth.

A lot of doctors dont' know very much about Cushing's & give up testing very quickly.

There is a possibility that you could have cyclical Cushing's, where the symptoms come & go.

Who is suggesting private salival tests?

Although I have some of those symptoms, I don't have all of them. I definitely don't have excessive hair growth, in fact I hardly have any body hair at all!

I belong to another group called recovering with T3 on Facebook. I am pretty sure I have an underactive thyroid. Someone on that forum advised that I have the saliva test done.

Two things that interlink here is Zinc, here's why if your hypothyroid high odds are your zinc is low, that said zinc controls cortisol by lowering it so if you have a hard time getting to sleep at night, 15-30mg of Zinc about 3hrs before bedtime should lower your cortisol levels... Hope that helps.
