"What's the evidence for the gluten-free lifestyle?"

What an appalling title! I eat gluten-free but I don't consider it to be a "lifestyle". What I consider it to be is a pain in the arse, and I would much prefer to eat gluten if I could. I have not adapted well to being gluten-free. I'm not much of a cook. I find being g-f is very restrictive. And I miss so many foods. I'm also not a masochist. If I could eat gluten I would!

I am about to go GF and not looking forward to it one bit. 'Pain in the arse' sums it up.

I have been gluten free for a year now and so glad that I am. I have Hashimotos, I don't buy much from the free from range because it seems to have much more sugar. Plus some other ingredients that I prefer to eliminate. I have lost 32lbs in weight which is a big bonus I was not expecting that. My gut issues are 80% improved. My health in general is improved but I cannot put that all down to gluten free. I have made quite a few changes to my diet and supplements plus thyroxine increase. I am awaiting op for gall bladder removal and hoping that will be a success obviously. This article didn't cover other auto immune conditions sadly or possible benefits of GF on them. My youngest granddaughter was diagnosed Type 1 diabetic and advised to go gluten free by the diabetic nurse. Her mother was told that GF will help with Diabetes because it is an auto immune condition . Sacrificing Gluten /Soy/Dairy is limiting but weighing up how my health is now compared to 12 months ago...A million pounds would not persuade me to eat it again. I could not function this time last year. I eat to live now x

I think your reply is more of a reason to go GF and has certainly inspired me.
