Hi, the ranges weren't in the printout from the Dr so I don't know them sorry. I'm on 100mg of levo.

No I'm not feeling well. I have PA and self inject so feel it must be to do with my thyroid.

What should I do to get tsh sorted? I had RAI following Graves so I'm not clued up on hypo.

Thanks

Grifter,

Your TSH is too high, it should be 1.0 or lower as you are taking Levothyroxine. Read Treatment Options in thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/about_... Email louise.roberts@thyroiduk.org.uk if you would like a copy of the Pulse article to show your GP.

Thanks Clutter. Could the high TSH have caused my headaches and joint pain do you think?

Grifter,

The low FT4/FT3 which caused the high TSH probably have. May be an idea to check ferritin and vitD though as deficient/low levels are common in hypothyroid patients and can cause musculoskeletal pain, fatigue and low mood similar to hypothyroid symptoms.

Grifter,

How low?

Ferritin is 4ug/L. Vit D is 34 (30-50)

Someone replied to a post on here to someone with ferritin at 8 that they should be given an iron infusion. This hasn't been mentioned to me by the Dr but I think would be great as iron tablets give me a bad tum.

Grifter,

Deficient ferritin is an indication of iron anaemia. Your GP should investigate further.

Can you confirm whether the vitD unit is 34 nmol/L or ng/mL ?

34nmol/L

Grifter,

Vit D is replete 75-200 and most people are fine around 100nmol/L. I would supplement 5,000iu daily and retest in 6 months. Take vitD 4 hours away from Levothyroxine.

Are you taking a vitamin B complex as well as injecting B12?

Recommended on here that we do both, to keep the B's in balance.

Your vitamin D looks too low. We seem to do better with it around 100

This link below explains how/why low vitamin D affects/lowers vitamin B

Forgot to say, taking Vitamin B complex will also improve your folate level.

Look for good quality B complex, like Thorne or Jarrow. Look for one that has folate in rather than cheaper folic acid.

Thanks for your posts. What is Liothyronine? I'll look into an infusion, thank you

I agree ferritin is not slightly low it is very very very low and you are probably feeling exhausted and maybe anxious and possibly losing hair as a result.
