How long on a certain NDT dose before testing?

I'm trying to find my optimum dose of NDT. How long should I stay on a certain dose before checking my Free T3 and T4? I've been in 3 grains for 2 weeks. When I was on 2.5 grains my T3 was in my boots. I don't want to stay on potentially too low a dose for too long.

People on NDT usually do well with FT3 in the upper third of range. As your FT3 was bottom of the range on 2.5 grains you might want to increase to 4 grains and hold for 6-8 weeks before retesting.

Thanks - I am raising slowly because when I initially went onto 3 I thought my heart was racing about 5 hours after I'd taken it, so I chickened out and went back to 2.5 for a while before trying 3 again. Maybe I will try going up to 4 as you say. I was on 100mcg levo before, but in my case it doesn't seem like the equivalents work out.
